The Alicorn is an 8min. video by Inflatable Deities - a collaboration with Emily Pelstring, commissioned by the PHI Centre, Montreal, QC, 2014

This hypnagogic narrative takes the form of a three-tiered dream. A pharaoh time travels from the future to ancient Egypt and is psychically transported to a medieval tavern where people are suffering from the Black Plague. In the tavern, a villager on the brink of death momentarily bears witness to woman’s salvation by the appearance of a unicorn’s horn. Themes of gender, power, and transgression are explored through this send-up of problematic historical representations in Classic Hollywood cinema.
